How Does Ozempic Semaglutide Work?
How Does Ozempic Semaglutide Work?. Ozempic (Semaglutide) helps to reduce appetite and food cravings in conjunction with a healthy diet and exercise by targeting the hormone GLP-1. This natural hormone manages blood glucose levels, which can help promote insulin production from your pancreas when sugar is too high or remove excess sugars from the liver if they are not needed – making it useful for type 2 diabetes management. Ultimately, this causes digestion to slow down after eating so that you feel fuller sooner while still getting all of their essential nutrients. Ozempic Chemist Warehouse

It really depends on each body. I have T2D. On Oz 0.5mg plus metformin since mid April and down from 230 to 185. My fasting is around 100-110 and I do spike to 180-200 after meals if I’m not careful balancing my carb, so for me the weight has been more dramatic than blood sugar control.

I read horror story after horror story on ozempic (most recently lottie moss) and hear stories OH YOULL GAIN IT ALL BACK AND MORE… Just wanna put it out there that isn’t true for me. Took it Jan 2023- November 2023 lost 40lbs. 188lbs to 148lbs I’m a 5”6 female. It’s now September 2024. I’m still the same weight. I do not get food noise even now. That’s a damn miracle. I used to excessively binge food for 3 people. I’m off it almost a year and still don’t feel the need to binge or get hunger pangs. If you’re considering ozempic try it. It’s not all the sensational stories the tabloids exploit it to be. It’s good. At least for me.

I’m really excited to get on it but had my first bout of dizziness and nausea. In a weird way I’m excited about that too. Know I know it’s doing something.

One month in ozempic -13 pounds down
I stepped on the scale today, exactly one month after starting Ozempic and following healthier habits. I couldn’t believe my eyes! I’ve lost 13 pounds and am under 198 pounds for the first time in 3 years. To think I was dreading weighing myself because my brain had tricked me into thinking I was the same weight no way I will see results a month in 😭
Might not be a lot but I’m so happy!!!

I haven’t lost weight but a true testament is that I started out at 8.9 and now sitting at a 6.2. I have had type 2 diabetes for over 20 years and my A1C has never been in that range. I was in the 10s for many years. I’ve been on Oz for 3 months now. Wow. It’s the little victories.

After 16 weeks on Ozempic, my A1C dropped from 6.8 to 5.6. I’m happy since I was never diagnosed with Type 2 until this past May. My fasting glucose was 110, so I’ve still got work to do. I’ve lost 47.5 lbs. with Ozempic and strict Keto (my doctor approved it), but I’ve plateaued for about a month, which doesn’t bother me. While I’ve generally stayed at 1,500 cal with keto., I have added more carbs back due to fatigue and that’s helped. I still need to workout, but my stamina and fitness vastly improved with weight loss. Best wishes to you on your Ozempic journey!

I am an avid walker and today while I was walking I noticed myself almost bouncing at every step. I was thinking “what shoes am I wearing right now??” Nope… regular always walking shoes, just less weight to carry I guess. I will be bouncing all the way home now 😂

I’m almost on week 4 of Ozempic prescribed off label for PCOS and to lose weight and apart from the initial nausea and after ice cream and red wine vomiting (not cool) I can say, oh my gosh, so confidently, that this med WORKS. The food noise is gone, I feel like working out more, I have lost 4.5 kilos in 3 weeks (78 KG to begin with) and I’m just blown away. Anyways: hope this helps someone – it’s 100% worth it. I just had pizza for dinner with the fam. Instead of 5 slices I can only stomach two. But that’s so fine and life is still so good!

I started ozempic in Mid May and stopped mid August. I paid for mine out of pocket. 2 weeks at .25, 2 weeks at .5, 2 weeks at 1.0. 2 weeks at 1.5 as went back down to 1.0 for the last stretch. I have a background in fitness and know what to do but I slowly let myself go after having kids at 23. Once I retired last year I spent a year just eating whatever. Once I started ozempic, I knew I wanted it to be short term so I had a crazy deficit but kept my protein high. Did CrossFit 3-5 times a week. On average I was eating between 900-1200 calories a day. Usually on the lower side. The last 2 weeks were rough. I was so tired of cutting. I lost some muscle of course but it doesn’t take long for muscle memory to kick in once you start eating at maintenance.
