Jardiance film-coated tablets are a prescription drug for type 2 diabetes that cannot be controlled by diet and exercise alone. Jardiance film-coated tablets contain the active substance empagliflozin. The tablets also contain microcrystalline cellulose, lactose monohydrate, hydroxypropyl cellulose, croscarmellose sodium, colloidal anhydrous silica, and magnesium stearate. The film coating contains talc, hypromellose, titanium dioxide (E171), macrogol (400), and yellow iron oxide (E172). Jardiance film-coated tablets are used to treat type 2 diabetes in adults 18 years of age or older. It can be used alone or in combination with other drugs for type 2 diabetes that cannot be successfully controlled by diet and exercise alone.
